How does this medication work? What will it do for me?
Amlodipine is used for the treatment of high blood pressure
and angina (chest pain). It works to control blood pressure and
reduces the number of angina attacks by relaxing blood vessels.
Amlodipine is often used in combination with other high blood
pressure medications when blood pressure control is not achieved
with the use of one medication alone.
Your doctor may have suggested this medication for conditions

What side effects are possible with this medication?

sleepiness or unusual drowsiness

swelling of ankles or feet

dizziness
pounding heartbeat
Rare:
chest pain
dark yellow urine
dizziness or lightheadedness when getting up
slow heartbeat
yellow eyes or skin
Some people may experience side effects other than those listed.
